This slide deck provides a design-thinking approach to understanding equity and bias. The slide deck also details a process of identifying and reflecting on individual, interpersonal, institutional, and structural oppression framed through an equity lens and design thinking. Questions and prompts are included for teams to consider as they tackle problem-solving around equity issues using liberatory design.
Teams can use this presentation as a foundation for exploring how team members are entering this work, exploring the diversity of perspective, lived experience, and mindset. This tool divides mindsets and methods to notice, empathize, define, ideate, prototype, test, and reflect while orienting team members to the challenges of design and the need for a focus on equity.
